I Could Sing of Your Love Forever is the most surprising song to release as a single into the mainstream charts, especially towards Christmas 2001. The single is the new version of the famous Cutting Edge song.

The new version is excellently produced including a gospel choir at the end of the song to add effect. The overall change works really well and truly emphasizes the atmosphere the song should bring. The song is superb but was it really for the mainstream? Well, many think it was a waste of time especially seen as it was released so close to Christmas when loads of mainstream bands were fighting for the number one slot. Others feel that it was necessary to bring out such a blatant Christian song because it was looking like Delirious? were going to be going totally judging from Audio Lessonover? which is obviously aimed for the non-Christian audience, so releasing I Could Sing of Your Love Forever was a good step for the Christian side of things.

We are in the middle somewhere between the two arguments! It is such a good song and the remake of it is excellent but I questioned the possibilities of a top twenty for it simply because of the release date.

You, I'm afraid to say, will have to make up your own mind whether or not it should have been released as a single or not! If you want to discuss this issue then please feel free to use the messageboard.
